Croatia: Industrial activity dips in April
Industrial output decreased 3.4% year-on-year in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in April, which was a deterioration from March’s 1.1% decrease and marked the worst reading since May 2020. The fall was led by lower production of durable consumer goods, intermediate goods and energy. In contrast, non-durable consumer goods and capital goods increased.
On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased 2.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in April, contrasting March’s 0.7% expansion and marking the worst result since April 2020. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at a two-year low of 0.0%, down from March’s plus 0.4% reading.
