Croatia: Industrial production declines in April
Industrial output fell 1.3% in working-day adjusted terms from the same month last year in April, contracting for the second consecutive month, albeit at a softer pace than in March, when it fell 1.7%.
The decrease in April was driven by a sharper annual contraction in the mining and quarrying sector and a downturn in electricity gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Meanwhile, manufacturing output was unchanged in April.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production in April contracted 0.9% in seasonally- and working-day adjusted terms, following March’s 2.9% fall. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production moderated from 1.4% in March to 1.3% in April, the lowest reading since May 2015.
