Croatia: Harmonized inflation drops to lowest level since November 2021 in April
Harmonized inflation came in at 4.7% in April, down from March’s 4.9%. April’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since November 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a slower pace in April. Moreover, housing and utilities price growth moderated. Meanwhile, prices for transportation rose at a mostly steady rate compared to the previous month’s reading.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 6.4% in April (March: 6.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.8% in April, from March’s 4.1%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 1.02% from the previous month in April, picking up from March’s 0.91% rise. April’s figure marked the highest reading since July 2023.
