Croatia: Inflation hits over eight-year high in August
Consumer prices rose 0.19% over the previous month in August, unchanged from July’s reading. The print largely reflected a marginally slower increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile prices for clothing and footwear slid at a softer rate over the previous month.
Inflation came in at 3.1% in August, up from July’s 2.8%. August’s result marked the highest inflation rate since April 2013. Accordingly, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.0% in August (July: 0.8%).
