Croatia: Harmonized inflation falls in December
Harmonized inflation edged down to 5.4% in December, following November’s 5.5%. December’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since December 2021. The downtick was chiefly driven by smaller price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages. On the flip side, price pressures for housing and transportation intensified.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 8.4% in December (November: 9.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 4.5% in December, from the previous month’s 4.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.30% in December over the previous month, a smaller decline than the 0.44% drop seen in November.
