Cyprus: Economic sentiment eases in September
Economic sentiment fell to 104.9 in September from August’s 106.8. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial, services and retail sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence weakened. That said, sentiment in the construction sector was less pessimistic in September.
Referring to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in September.
