Cyprus: Economic sentiment falls in October
Economic sentiment came in at 104.6 in October, down from September’s 104.9. October’s result marked the weakest sentiment since May. That said, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The downtick came on the back of weaker sentiment in the services and retail sectors. However, sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors improved in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence rose in October.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index fell in October.
