Cyprus: Harmonized inflation increases in April
Harmonized inflation increased to 2.1% in April, above March’s 1.6%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transporation and for housing and utilities returned to growth. In contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a more moderate pace in April.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 2.7% in April (March: 2.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.4% in April, from the previous month’s 1.2%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 1.41% from the previous month in April, picking up from March’s 0.76% rise. April’s uptick was the highest reading since July 2022.
