Cyprus: Harmonized inflation holds steady in June
Harmonized inflation came in at 3.0% in June, matching May’s figure. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and for housing utilities rose at a faster pace in June. However, prices for transportation grew at a more moderate rate.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at May’s 2.6% in June. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 2.9% in June from May’s 2.7%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.36% in June over the previous month, below the 1.20% increase seen in May. June’s result marked the lowest reading since January.
