Cyprus: Inflation recedes in April
Consumer prices rose 0.4% from the previous month in April, following March’s 0.8% increase. A breakdown of the sub-components showed that prices for clothing and footwear, and transport again recorded the strongest increases.
Inflation decelerated to 1.2% in April, from 1.4% in March, with prices for utilities recording the strongest increase and prices for communication the sharpest drop. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up from 1.9% in March to 2.1% in April. Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 1.1% in March (the latest month for which data is available), from 0.8% in the previous month.
