Cyprus: Harmonized inflation comes in at highest level since March in September
Harmonized inflation came in at 4.3% in September, which was up from August’s 3.1%. September’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since March. The figure was primarily due to renewed price pressures for transportation and housing and utilities.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 5.3% in September (August: 5.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 4.0% in September, from the previous month’s 2.6%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.17% over the previous month in September, coming in below August’s 1.13% rise. September’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
