Cyprus: Harmonized inflation rises in August
Harmonized inflation came in at 3.1% in August, up from July’s 2.4%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation and for housing and utilities dropped at a slower pace. That said, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 5.7% in August (July: 6.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.6% in August, from the previous month’s 1.5%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.13% in August over the previous month, moderating from July’s 1.36% rise.
