Czech Republic: Economic sentiment weakens in July
The economic sentiment indicator, published by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO), fell to 95.7 in July from 98.3 in June.
The business confidence index decreased to 100.2 from June’s 103.1. The result came on the back of weaker sentiment in the industry and trade sectors. On the flip side, sentiment increased in the construction and selected services sectors.
Meanwhile, consumer confidence fell further in July, with the index decreasing to 73.6 from 74.7 in June, marking the weakest reading since January 2003. The decline reflected an increase in the number of households expecting a worsening in their personal financial situation.
