Czech Republic: Industrial output rebounds in June
Industrial production grew 0.7% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms in June (May: -2.2% mom). Looking at the details of the release, June’s turnaround was partly due to a rebound in manufacturing output. In addition, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output gained steam.
On an annual basis, industrial production fell at a sharper rate of 3.3% in calendar-adjusted terms in June (May: -3.2% yoy). While the result was the worst once since September 2023, it was influenced by a high base of comparison. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.8%, down from May’s minus 1.5%.
