Czech Republic: Industrial production rebounds in February
Industrial production rose 1.5% year-on-year in February, rebounding from January’s 1.0% decline. There were the same number of working days in February than in the same month last year. February’s increase was primarily driven by the strong rebound in manufacturing output, particularly of electrical equipment and machinery. Meanwhile, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector posted smaller output gains compared to January while output in the mining and quarrying sector contracted for the seventh consecutive month in February.
In seasonally-adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial output rose 0.5% in February, following the 1.3% slip recorded in January. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production ticked down from 2.7% in January to 2.6% in February.
