Czech Republic: Industrial output drops at sharpest rate since October 2021 in September
Industrial output plunged 5.0% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in September, which was a deterioration from August’s 1.7% decrease. The result marked the worst reading since October 2021. September’s weakening was largely due to a deterioration in manufacturing production, as it recorded the weakest reading since April 2022. In addition, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output weakened.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output fell at a 1.8% in September (August: 0.0% mom). Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 0.6% in September (August: +1.8%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
