Czech Republic: Inflation climbs to over seven-year high in November
Consumer prices climbed 0.3% from the previous month in November, following October’s 0.5% rise. Data released by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO) revealed that November’s increase was mainly driven by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities.
Meanwhile, inflation rose from 2.7% in October to 3.1% in November, the highest reading since October 2012. Thus, it landed slightly above the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance range. Lastly, annual average inflation ticked up to 2.7% from 2.6% in the prior month.
