Czech Republic: Inflation drops to lowest level since September in December
Inflation dropped to 6.9% in December, following November’s 7.3%. December’s figure marked the weakest inflation rate since September. The result was largely driven by softer growth in prices for housing and utilities. In addition, price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a lower pace. Moreover, prices for recreation and culture grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 10.7% in December (November: 11.4%).
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.40% from the previous month in December, swinging from November’s 0.07% rise. December’s result marked the weakest reading since September.
