Czech Republic: Inflation falls to over five-year low in February
Inflation ticked down to 2.0% in February, edging down from January’s 2.3%. February’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since April 2018. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a more moderate rate, as did prices for recreation and culture. In contrast, prices for housing and utilities rose at a quicker rate in February.
Annual average inflation fell to 8.2% in February (January: 9.4%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.27% over the previous month in February, slowing down from the 1.49% rise logged in January.
