Denmark: Consumer sentiment continues to steadily improve in June; still remains pessimistic
Consumer sentiment improved for an eighth consecutive month in June and rose to minus 10.9, up from the prior month’s minus 15.1. As a result, the index moved closer to, but remained well below, the 0-point threshold, signaling softer pessimism among Danish consumers from the previous month.
Looking at the details of the release, June’s uptick reflected less downbeat views regarding the country’s general economic situation today compared to a year ago. Moreover, consumers became more optimistic with regard to their financial situation a year from today, and were less pessimistic regarding their current financial situation from a year ago.
