Denmark: Consumers become more pessimistic in September
Consumer sentiment deteriorated to minus 13.0 in September, down from August’s minus 10.9. As such, the index moved further below the 0-point threshold, signaling starker pessimism among Danish consumers from the prior month.
Looking at the details of the release, September’s downtick reflected a near broad-based deterioration. Consumers’ views regarding both their current financial situation and the country’s current general economic situation compared to a year ago were more pessimistic. Conversely, consumers became less reluctant to making large-ticket purchases.
