Denmark: Economic sentiment rises to over two-year high in June
Economic sentiment came in at 104.0 in June, up from May’s 103.7. June’s result marked the strongest sentiment since February 2022. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger confidence in the services sector in June, and improved sentiment in the retail sector in the surveyed month. Moreover, consumer sentiment rose in June. Less positively, sentiment in the industrial sector weakened and sentiment in the construction sector deteriorated.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index fell in June.
