Denmark: Manufacturing activity posts quickest growth since October 2016 in April
Manufacturing production rebounded in April, expanding 11.3% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms (March: -4.2% mom). April’s figure marked the best reading since October 2016. Looking at the details of the release, April’s notable rebound came on the back of pickups in non-durable consumer goods—which account for around 41% of manufacturing output—and investment goods production.
On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing output rose at a quicker rate of 18.8% in April (March: +4.3% yoy), the best result since February 2023. Accordingly, annual average manufacturing production growth rose to 9.3% in April (March: +8.5%). This signals an improving trend in the manufacturing sector.
