Denmark: Inflation falls in December
Consumer prices dropped 0.3% over the previous month in December, matching November’s result. According to Statistics Denmark (DST), lower prices for clothing and footwear spearheaded the decline in prices. Out of the 12 sub-categories, 7 recorded a price fall, 2 saw a rise in prices and the remaining 3 logged a flat reading.
Inflation decreased to 1.0% in December, down from 1.3% in November. Annual average inflation rose marginally to 1.2% in December (November: 1.1%).
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) dropped to 0.8% in December from 1.3% in November, while annual average HICP increased to 1.1% from 1.0% in November.
