Denmark: Inflation jumps to over 13-year high in January
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 1.41% from the previous month in January, swinging from the 0.47% fall logged in December. The rebound was broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for housing and utilities, transportation, and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 4.3% in January, which was up from December’s 3.1%. January’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since August 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 2.2% in January (December: 1.9%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 1.9% in January, from the previous month’s 1.5%.
