Denmark: Inflation falls to over two-year low in September
Inflation fell to 0.9% in September from August’s 2.4%. September’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since February 2021. Looking at the details of the release, September’s deceleration chiefly reflected falling prices for housing and utilities. This more than offset prices for transportation rising at a faster rate, and largely unchanged prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 5.5% in September (August: 6.3%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 3.7% in September, from August’s 4.2%.
Finally, consumer prices dropped a seasonally adjusted 0.25% in September over the previous month, a softer fall than August’s 0.68% fall.
