Denmark: Inflation recedes to near two-year low in June
Inflation eased to 2.5% in June below May’s 2.9%. June’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since September 2021. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation largely reflected food and non-alcoholic beverages prices growing at a softer pace. Meanwhile, prices for housing and utilities fell in June while prices for transportation fell at a sharper pace.
Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation coming in at 7.3% in June (May: 7.8%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 4.9% in June, from the previous month’s 5.0%.
Finally, consumer prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.34% over the previous month in June, swinging from May’s 1.36% fall. June’s uptick marked the sharpest increase in prices since February.
