Denmark: Inflation rises in December
Inflation inched up to 0.7% in December from November’s 0.6%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for both transport and for housing and utilities decreased at slower paces in December. Meanwhile, food and non-alcoholic beverages price growth moderated. Moreover, prices for recreation and culture grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 3.3% in December (November: 4.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 2.6% in December, from the previous month’s 3.0%.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped a seasonally adjusted 0.51% in December over the previous month, coming in below November’s 0.34% drop. December’s result marked the weakest reading since August.
