Dominican Republic: Economic activity growth speeds up in June
Economic activity increased 6.2% compared to the same month of the previous year in June, which followed May’s 4.3% increase. According to preliminary data, the improvement stemmed from accelerating growth in the agricultural, manufacturing and services sectors, coupled with rebounding mining and construction output.
On a monthly basis, economic activity increased 0.6% in seasonally adjusted terms in June, rebounding from May’s 1.3% fall. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 4.3% in June, up from May’s 3.8% reading.
