Ecuador: Contraction in economic activity eases in December
In December, economic activity contracted 0.9% in annual terms, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IDEAC, Indice de Actividad Económica Coyuntural) released by the Central Bank of Ecuador. The decline eased from January’s revised 1.5% drop (previously reported: -0.8% year-on-year).
In month-on-month, seasonally-adjusted terms, economic activity increased 0.6% in December, following a revised 0.2% rise in November (previously reported: +0.4% month-on-month).
