Ecuador: Economic activity drops in December
In December, economic activity fell 1.7% over the same month of 2018, according to the monthly economic activity indicator (IDEAC) released by the Central Bank of Ecuador. The result was slightly above November’s revised contraction of 1.9% (previously reported: -0.3% year-on-year).
In month-on-month, seasonally-adjusted terms, economic activity rose 0.3% in December after coming in flat in November. Meanwhile, annual average economic activity fell 0.4% in December, which was down from November’s 0.1% drop.
