Ecuador: Consumer prices fall again in March
Consumer prices increased 0.06% over the previous month in March, a smaller upturn than February’s 0.15% month-on-month rise. Eight out of the twelve sub-components recorded a rise in prices, one registered a flat reading and the remaining three incurred a drop. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased the most, while prices for recreation and culture declined by the biggest magnitude over the previous month.
Consumer prices fell 0.2% over the same month of the previous year in March, following a 0.1% drop in annual terms in February. Annual average inflation came in at 0.2% in March, mirroring February’s reading.
