Ecuador: Inflation drops to lowest level since September 2021 in June
Inflation eased to 1.2% in June from May’s 2.5%. June’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since September 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transportation rose at a faster pace in June, although prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a much more moderate pace.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at May’s 1.9% in June.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.95% in June over the previous month, a sharper drop than May’s 0.12% drop.
