Ecuador: Inflation inches down in December
Consumer prices rose 0.10% over the previous month in December, after declining 0.25% month-on-month in November. Prices for recreation and culture rose the most, followed by transport. Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages registered the biggest drop, followed by prices for restaurants and hotels.
Meanwhile, inflation inched down to 0.3% in December, from 0.4% in November. Consumer prices returned to growth for the first time in over a year in September. Meanwhile, the annual average variation in consumer prices was minus 0.2% in December, slightly up from November’s minus 0.3%.
