Egypt: Inflation steady in March
Consumer prices rose 0.62% from the previous month in March, accelerating from February’s 0.15% increase. The higher reading was primarily driven by rising prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 4.5% in March, unchanged from February’s result. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged with annual average inflation coming in at February’s 4.7% in March. Lastly, core inflation ticked up to 3.7% from the previous month’s 3.6%.
