Egypt: Inflation slides to four-month low in November
Consumer prices increased 0.15% from the previous month in November, moderating from the 1.50% increase logged in October. November’s result marked the weakest reading since August. The moderation was largely driven by plunging prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for transportation eased.
Inflation came in at 5.6% in November, which was down from October’s 6.3%. November’s reading represented the lowest inflation rate since July. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at October’s 5.2% in November. Finally, core inflation rose to 5.8% in November, from the previous month’s 5.2%.
