Estonia: Harmonized inflation increases in July
Harmonized inflation ticked up to 3.5% in July, up from June’s 2.8%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased at a quicker pace in July, and housing and utilities prices returned to growth following the previous month’s decline. Meanwhile, prices for recreation plus transportation grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 4.0% in July (June: 4.2%). In contrast, consumer price inflation rose to 3.4% in July from June’s 2.5%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.22% over the previous month in July, slowing down from the 0.47% increase seen in June.
