Estonia: Inflation edges down in January
Consumer prices fell 0.4% over the previous month at the outset of the year, following a 0.3% month-on-month decrease in December. A breakdown by components provided by Statistics Estonia showed that lower prices for clothing and footwear, transport and housing drove the result, more than offsetting higher for food and non- alcoholic beverages.
Inflation edged down to 1.6% in January, from 1.8% in December. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down to a 31-month low of 2.2% in January, from 2.3% in December.
