Euro Area: Unemployment rate unchanged in May
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was stable at April’s 6.4% in May.
As for the Eurozone’s largest economies, the unemployment rate remained stable in Germany, Italy and Spain, fell in the Netherlands, and rose in France. Significant disparities in labor market conditions between core and periphery countries persist: Spain is the economy with the highest unemployment rate of 11.7%, followed by Greece (10.6%). At the other end of the spectrum, Malta (3.2%) and Germany (3.3%) have the lowest unemployment rates.
