Euro Area: Unemployment rate stable in March
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 6.5% in March, stable from February.
As for the Eurozone’s largest economies, the unemployment rate remained stable in Germany; and fell in France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. Significant disparities in labor market conditions between core and periphery countries persist: Spain is the economy with the highest unemployment rate of 11.7%, followed by Greece (10.2%). At the other end of the spectrum, Malta (3.2%) and Germany (3.2%) have the lowest unemployment rates.
