Euro Area: Unemployment rate stable in July
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 6.4% in July, unchanged from June.
Seven economies saw their unemployment rates stable in July, including Germany. Meanwhile, five economies saw their unemployment rates decrease, including Spain, while eight economies saw their unemployment rates increase, including France, Italy and the Netherlands.
Significant disparities in labor market conditions between core and periphery countries persist. Spain (11.6%) and Greece (10.8%) are the economies with the highest unemployment rates. At the other end of the spectrum, Malta (2.5%) and Germany (2.9%) have the lowest unemployment rates.
