Finland: Monthly economic activity flatlines in October
Economic activity was flat in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in October, which was unchanged from the previous month’s result. Looking at the details of the release, October’s outturn reflected a steeper fall in primary sector—which includes the agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing subsectors—activity. Furthermore, activity contracted in both the secondary sector, and services sector sub-sectors.
On an annual basis, economic activity fell 0.8% in working-day adjusted terms in October, a less pronounced than September’s 0.9% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at an over two-year low of 0.2%, down from September’s 0.4%.
