Finland: Monthly economic activity growth wanes in October
Economic activity increased 0.2% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in October, which was a deterioration from September’s 0.4% increase. October’s downturn came on the back of weaker output in the secondary sector and softer growth in the services sector. However, primary sector—which includes the agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing subsectors—expanded at a quicker pace.
Nevertheless, on an annual basis, economic activity rose at a quicker rate of 1.5% in October (September: +1.1% yoy). Meanwhile, annual average economic activity growth fell to 2.5% in October (September: +2.7%), which marked a one-year low.
