Finland: Harmonized inflation falls to lowest level since December 2020 in March
Harmonized inflation fell to 0.5% in March, which was down from February’s 1.1%. March’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since December 2020. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plunged in March. Meanwhile, housing and utilities prices fell at a more pronounced pace. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace. In contrast, prices for transportation rebounded.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 2.7% in March (February: 3.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.2% in March, from February’s 3.0%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.13% in March over the previous month, contrasting February’s 0.66% rise.
