Finland Inflation June 2023

Finland: Harmonized inflation falls to over one-year low in June

Harmonized inflation eased to 4.1% in June below May’s 5.0%. June’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since December 2021. Looking at the details of the release, the moderation was primarily due to a softer increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for transportation decreased at a faster pace.

Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 7.3% in June (May: 7.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 6.3% in June, from the previous month’s 6.8%.

Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.14% from the previous month in June, swinging from the 0.08% rise seen in May. June’s result marked the weakest reading since December 2022.
