France: Business confidence inches up in April
Business confidence rose to 108.2 in April from 107.4 in the previous month. As a result, the index remained above the 100-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among businesses.
April’s higher reading was mainly due to a marked improvement in opinions on overall order books and foreign order books. Moreover, there was also greater optimism with regards to finished goods inventories. That said, economic uncertainty among businesses increased significantly over the previous month.
