France: Business confidence sours in November amid renewed lockdown measures
Business confidence dropped to 92 in November from October’s 94. As a result, the index fell further below the 100-threshold, which represents its long-term average.
With regard to demand, manufacturers’ personal and general production expectations deteriorated markedly from the previous month, likely owing to renewed lockdown measures. Moreover, in terms of staffing, employment intentions also worsened in November. Meanwhile, manufacturers’ perception of both new overall orders and new export orders turned less pessimistic from the previous month.
