France: Harmonized inflation holds stable in April
Harmonized inflation was stable at March’s 2.4% in April. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a softer rate in April. That said, price for restaurants and hotels rose at a faster pace.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 4.3% in April (March: 4.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation edged down to 2.2% in April, from the previous month’s 2.3%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.62% in April over the previous month, accelerating from March’s 0.25% increase.
