France: Inflation edges higher in February
On 14 March, the Statistical Institute (INSEE) reported that consumer prices were stable from a month earlier in February (January: -0.4% month-on-month). Higher fuel costs were offset by fresh-food costs.
Inflation ticked up to 1.3% from 1.2% in January, while annual average inflation edged up to 1.9% from 1.8%.
Harmonized consumer prices rose 0.1% from a month earlier (January: -0.6% month-on-month), while harmonized inflation sped up to 1.6% from 1.4% in January. Lastly, annual average harmonized inflation was stable from January at 2.1%.
