France: Inflation hits highest level since February in July
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.38% in July over the previous month, picking up from June’s 0.08% rise. July’s result marked the sharpest increase in prices since December 2019 and was driven by rising prices for services and manufactured products.
Similarly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.41% over the previous month, up from June’s 0.09%. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation increased to 0.9% in July, above June’s 0.2%, marking the highest inflation rate since February. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at June’s 1.0% in July.
